We will be presenting a poster board for research that examines how the children’s television show “Jessie”
portrays ethnic minorities. We conducted a latent content analysis to uncover the portrayal of ethnic minorities
in the show. We will focus on the subliminal racial content that is being masqueraded within children’s
programming. We hope to open a dialogue about the messages children are currently being exposed to.
